Business Structure
Terrazia PC, a certified small business, is a Virginia Professional Corporation owned and operated by Steve Sunderman, a Registered Architect (Virginia license #0401006818).
Steve Sunderman, President
Steve is a licensed architect, LEED Accredited Professional with Building Design + Construction Specialty (LEED AP/BD+C) and Building Performance Institute (BPI) Analyst. He is a 1974 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design degrees. His many years of diversified architectural experience include extensive design, project management and energy/utility audit consulting for a wide variety of building types throughout the United States and the Middle East. He has promoted alternative energy, conservation measures and equitable environmental design since the early 1970's, including training state of Oklahoma university staff in energy auditing procedures.
I am compelled to provide a sustainable future for my descendents and all of society by implementing a strategy of change for our built environment that creates buildings that save money, improve people’s lives and ensure a sustainable environment.
Steve’s passion for promoting sustainable environments led him to become deeply involved in the US Green Building Council Southwest Virginia (USGBC-SWVA) chapter where he has served on the board of directors from 2008 to 2013 in roles as Vice Chair, Chair, Southeast Regional Committee (SERC) Representative and Green Schools Committee Chair. In 2011 he was elected to the first national USGBC Center for Green Schools Committee Cabinet and currently represents SE USGBC Chapters. Due to his involvement in sustainable paving educational programs, he has obtained certification as a pervious concrete technician.,
He is a 1988 Leadership Roanoke Valley graduate and has been involved in multiple Roanoke Valley Chamber of Commerce committees.
