Who We Are
Terrazia PC is an environmental and energy conservation consultancy located in Roanoke, Virginia. We provide advice, analysis, documentation and project concepts to building owners, commercial developers, design professionals, builders and suppliers to implement sustainable conservation strategies for a variety of new and existing buildings. We offer comprehensive solutions to meet our clients' performance goals based on market demand, life cycle economics and socially responsible environmental equity. We specialize in strategy, change management, performance measurement, process optimization, and technology implementation. Terrazia has developed an extensive network of conservation specialists that can be engaged as appropriate on a project-by-project basis to effect comprehensive building solutions.

Terrazia’s mission is to promote and implement high performance design, construction and operations strategies for buildings in Virginia and to conserve financial and natural resources for our clients, communities and future generations. Earned profits sustain the company and equitably compensate all contributing stakeholders.

Business Structure
Terrazia PC, a certified small business, is a Virginia Professional Corporation owned and operated by Steve Sunderman, a Registered Architect (Virginia license #0401006818) with National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) certification.

Steve Sunderman, President
Steve is a licensed architect,  LEED Accredited Professional with Building Design + Construction Specialty (LEED AP/BD+C) and Building Performance Institute (BPI) Analyst. He is a 1974 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design degrees.  His many years of diversified architectural experience include extensive design, project management and energy/utility audit consulting for a wide variety of building types throughout the United States and the Middle East. He has promoted alternative energy, conservation measures and equitable environmental design since the early 1970's, including training state of Oklahoma university staff in energy auditing procedures.

Steve’s passion for promoting sustainable environments led him to become deeply involved in the US Green Building Council Southwest Virginia (USGBC-SWVA) chapter where he has served on the board of directors since 2008 in roles as 2008 Vice Chair, 2009 Chair, 2010-2011 Southeast Regional Committee (SERC) Representative and 2009-2011 Green Schools Committee Chair. In 2011 he was elected to the first national USGBC Center for Green Schools Committee Cabinet.

He is a 1988 Leadership Roanoke Valley graduate and has been involved in multiple Roanoke Valley Chamber of Commerce committees.
