Steve Sunderman, President of Terrazia PC, will present "Paving the Way to a Sustainable Triple Bottom Line" at the Green Living Energy Expo at the Roanoke Civic Center November 4.

Bill Warren, Building Scientist with Southern Energy Management, and Steve Sunderman, President of Terrazia PC, will present "Air Leakage Testing for Large Commercial Buildings" at the Green Living Energy Expo at the Roanoke Civic Center November 4.

Steve Sunderman, President of Terrazia PC, will present a Case Study (Williamson Road Fire Station) for stormwater management at Ferrum college Raonoke River Currents Watershed Conference on October 7.

August, 2011:
Terrazia PC has contracted with Roanoke Cement Company (Titan America) to assist with promoting concrete paving as a sustainable alternative to asphalt paving. Terrazia will conduct research, attend seminars, create relevant presentations and present his findings to stakeholders in Southwest virginia. Look for upcoming presentations such as "Paving the Way to a Sustainable Triple Bottom Line".

At its annual affiliates conference, Roanoke Valley Cool Cities Coalition announced the winners of the 2011 Cool Citizen Awards.  These awards are presented to individuals, businesses and organizations who have made significant progress toward the goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions through conservation, energy efficiency programs and the implementation of clean, renewable energy.  Individual Cool Citizen award winner, Steve Sunderman pioneered the Virginia Green Schools Challenge for the Southwest Virginia Chapter of the US Green Building Council. With assistance from volunteer Green Mentors, 20 Southwest Virginia schools competed for recognition of their commitment to no-cost and low-cost sustainable practices such as low carbon, zero waste, and local food, with Glenvar Middle School named the winner.

The US Green Building Council Southwest Center for Green Schools announces election of four members to the new Green Schools Committee Cabinet. They are:

The US Green Building Council Southwest Virginia Chapter's first annual Green Schools Challenge will have its Finale Event and Awards Program during the annual Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS) conference at the Hotel Roanoke from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
